Northwest Gun News recently reported that with the Democrats having full power in Congress and the White House, the radical left would go “all-in” against the 2nd Amendment.
The Democrats know they have two years to push their agenda before what many believe will be a major “red wave” in the House in 2022.
That’s why the Democrats wasted little time in introducing gun control legislation in Congress.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), one of the most radical leftists in Congress, introduced a bill (H.R. 127) which would license firearms and ammunition possession in the United States.
Many countries like Canada have tried to license firearms and ammunition and the massive cost and failures of these programs have caused them to implode.
If a country like Canada can’t pull it off, how do the Democrats think it will ever work in the United States? We have far more firearms and ammunition and a large part of our population that will be unwilling to comply.
Gun owners will not take kindly to being told they have to get permission from the government to possess firearms.
States like Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana in particular will revolt against any push to license firearms and ammunition and Idaho’s state constitution explicitly states that they will not do it.
Additionally, many states have or are working on Second Amendment Protection Acts (SAPA) to ensure gun control regulations passed by any administration are not enforced in their respective states.
Idaho has a version of a SAPA which the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance intends to upgrade significantly in 2021.
The states of Oregon and Washington, which have some of the strictest gun control regulations, do not have licensing programs and also have large populations where many gun owners are likely to not comply.
The text of Jackson’s bill has not yet been released but we presume it will be lengthy and detrimental to the 2nd Amendment.
Tension across the country is very high right now. Many believe the country is on the precipice of another civil war.
Threats to disarm and push massive gun control on the American public may very well be the line that goes too far.
Gun owners must contact their Congressmen and Senators right away and tell them they must hold the line and stop these unconstitutional efforts.
